By way of background on the firm, Solomon Harris (the 'Firm'), was first established as a law firm in the Cayman Islands in November 1997. The Firm is a full service corporate and commercial law firm practising exclusively Cayman Islands law. The Firm has particular expertise in investment funds, captive insurance and insolvency/restructuring. A significant proportion of the Firm's practice is in investment funds, with particular emphasis on hedge funds and fund of funds. The Firm has been consistently rated as one of the leading firms in the Cayman Islands:
Chambers Global - The world's Leading Lawyers stated that the Firm had 'received a string of recommendations for its 'topnotch' corporate and funds work' and that clients praised the 'entrepreneurial and responsible' attitude of its senior lawyers.
The Firm is also recommended by other UK publications, Legal500.com, PLC - Which Lawyer? and IFLR 1000 - The Guide to the World's Leading International Business Law Firms.
The Firm has three partners, Sophia Harris (the founder and managing partner), Paul Scrivener and Laura Hatfield.
The Firm established its Zurich branch in early 2008 under the registration "Solomon Harris, Attorneys-at-Law, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, Zurich Branch". The branch was opened in May 2008 and is located in the high quality Regus facility on the Dreikoenigsstrasse just a short distance from the Bahnhofstrasse.
Although focusing on investment funds, offshore vehicles and trusts, the branch is able to offer a full range of Cayman Islands legal services not only to Swiss clients but to clients throughout Europe and Asia. The Zurich branch only practises Cayman Islands law.

Georges Boivin - Mr Boivin is a Canadian national who worked in Bermuda for ten years prior to joining the Firm, specializing as a financial services lawyer. Mr. Boivin was formerly Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel of The Bank of Bermuda Limited. He has a strong legal background in investment funds and financial services. Mr Boivin is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, Canada with an LLB and was a member of the Bermuda Bar.

Mr Dalimonthee is a graduate of the University of Kent and attended the College of Law-London (1993 B.A). He previously worked in London with Allen & Overy and Slaughter & May and is a member of the Cayman Islands Bar.
We are proud of the experience and skill set of these two lawyers which add to the solid foundation for a well-managed and high quality Branch office.
The Cayman head office and the Zurich branch are completely integrated in every aspect and work very closely together. The Firm is committed to the delivery of a seamless service to clients across the two jurisdictions. In particular, the Zurich branch is able to draw upon the full resources of the Cayman head office and take advantage of the time zone difference to effectively extend the working day available to European clients.
The Firm has an impressive client base in Switzerland including banks, fiduciaries, independent asset managers, investment advisors, fund of funds and consultants. The Firm therefore has a unique opportunity to enhance the products and services that may be offered by firms operating in the Swiss financial industry because of the greater access those firms will have to offshore legal advice.
