Solomon Harris Acts on Weststar Transaction
Cayman Islands law firm, Solomon Harris, acted for the purchasers in a change in majority ownership of WestStar TV Limited ("WestStar"). The company provides digital cable television and broadband services to the Cayman Islands and offers a wide selection of entertainment, news, children's, sports, and HD programming. The new owners are backed by Bison Capital a U.S. based firm known for investing in solid companies and providing both financial and strategic assistance to those companies. Bob Taylor will oversee the operation as CEO of WestStar. The transaction closed on 25 September 2012.
A Solomon Harris team led by Kay Carter handled all Cayman law aspects on behalf of the purchasers, working closely with Ohio law firm, Nieuhaus & Associates, Ltd. A number of other law firms were involved including Maples and Calder and Ogier.
Paul Scrivener, commented, "We are delighted to have played our part in this exciting new development for WestStar and we wish the company, the new
